hi my names david and i have a wheel horse 312-8 with an assortment of lights and fun things it also has duel wheels......i am currently restoring a cub cadet 102 to sell to get money for and rj-58 which i will restore and then im hoping 2 get and 1054 or a saburban. if any one has aanytips for the cub cadet please let me kno at Charlie's Clintons under the vendors catagory. thanks!!!!! :scratchead:

Got a 312-8 myself that likes to backfire if I don't let it idle for a few minutes after working. Sounds like a frggin' M-80 when it does pop!

Welcome Dave. My 414 does the backfire thing too, just have to shut it down at half throttle and no problem. Letting it idle for a couple of minutes works too, but if you're in a rush, just put it at half throttle and turn off the key. No more B.S.S when doing it that way.

We'll we brought his tractor to the Rough and Tumble and it barely idled. So we adjusted the carburetor so it would run at any speed well. It runs a little leaner than normal which makes it backfire. He likes it though. It's fun to watch at night.

The main thing is there is only one adjustment screw so if you adjust it to idle nice it will backfire.

Golly, another popping horse?? My 244H with the Onan 14HP does that

when I shut it off, after it comes to a complete stop, then POP!

Glad to have you here, makes me feel better to know I'm not the
