Rake attachment - hitch options?

Recommended Posts

brentvdg

Hey Guys,

I bought a deck, dozer blade, and a rake on FB marketplace last week. The rake looks super old considering the square nuts, and appears to be set up for a cat0 3 point hitch? Was hoping to use it with my 312, but not sure what's the easiest way to attach it (without having a 3pt). I'm don't weld, so was hoping there may be an adapter to use it with one of the standard hitches for my tractor.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Brent

Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping to have the ability to lift and lower the rake as needed. Would a ball hitch allow for that? Seems like it wouldn't, but not sure if there are any solid tandem solutions like a ball hitch with a brinly clevis hitch etc.

Thanks again,

 Brent

I'd go for one of these. Winch on top using 2" winch plate on riser, rake pivot on bottom with a bar across. Not pretty but functional for a tractor with no rear lift...

I have similar setup on my front plow blade... and for rear crane...

Similar to Pete's aerator noted above...

@SylvanLakeWH  like your 3 in 1  hook up , often tweak the original idea / improvement , why not !  grandson just passed hot wire  weld statis at EB , he regularly  helps me out on a weld  mod idea , if he can weld submarines , his W/H  mods are pretty secure, pete

I built a rake that slides right into the sleeve hitch. The tongue is a 2" X 3/4" steel bar that was cut down to 5/8" thickness where it enters the hitch. A couple of 1/8 " X 1" bars keep it in line.

This is probably the route that makes the most sense for me and my situation.

I saw that new 3 point hitch from AZTractorParts on ebay, which looks enticing, but I can't justify the cost.  I have less than that in my tractor including all accessories. 😅

Thanks, all!

Very nice. Another advantage of the slot style is that it sits a bit higher than the Brinly-style sleeve hitches.
