Further proof you need another building. "Tractors only" of course.

Another building is in the plan.  Wanna put up a 10x20 shed behind garage. City ordinance limits structures on property to a certain percentage of overall property square footage.  With house, detached garage, she shed & planned future shed I'm maxed out. No plans to move as we downsized 3 years ago from a 3500 sq ft house on 14 acres. Too much work as we get older.

Good lord that is gorgeous! Did you restore it?

Not restored… just painted the hood, seat pan, transmission  tunnel, new decals, wheels powder coated, new tires, along with a good cleaning.

Having seen that machine in person, my vote says restoration! :bow-blue:

I can add a “shed" up to 15 x 20, per the code. Beyond that it becomes an “auxiliary structure." Practically speaking, to be able to work comfortably on tractors would require at least 10x15.

The building/finance/executive committee has given a tentative ok on size and location since it’d use space currently occupied by out-of-sight, “being phased out” firewood storage.

The glitches keeping me from pulling the trigger, however, are that it cannot have a “foundation” (rather vaguely defined) and that the impact on our property taxes (already insane) wouldn’t be known until after it is finished and assessed!

Build a 15 x 20 houseboat with a large door.

I like it--out of the box thinking! 😁. RV storage is permitted as long as it isn’t visible from the street, too.

Also considered buying and parking a 20’ container in that spot but the 8’ width would be tight for tractor work--I’d need some sort of turntable lift for sure.

Our village just passed an ADU scheme (auxiliary dwelling unit). Up to 800 sq. ft. The proposed location would qualify. Village taxes on any assessment increase to be abated for five years and then phased up to full taxes over five more years. Effect on county and school taxes isn’t at all clear but maybe what I need is an “artist studio” apartment with a lovely set of wide French doors and a plan to sell and move out in five or six years?! It’d need to have at least an efficiency kitchen and bathroom and heat to qualify and it would cost a LOT more than a shed to build! Also I’m not quite sure about required occupancy as a dwelling--when and/or who. Maybe I’d have to move in for while! Sigh.

HOA… Makes as much sense as military intelligence.

Home Owner, but told what to do by someone who doesn’t. Such an organization should be illegal.
