Recommended Posts

Hello there, new to me C120. Im planning on using it for plow duties this winter! I have got the cylinder rebuilt by wheelhorsepartsandmore, and got 101422 and 101423 hoses for the hydro lift. I messed up the o rings on one of them! What o rings go on them? Can i just get them at a regular store? Im curious! Thanks!

You should be able to match them up at ACE or any other good hardware store. The proper amount of torque applied to these "O" Ring fittings is very important. Your fittings are ORB.

            JIC                                                             ORB

Size          SAE Thread            Torque                Size          SAE Thread            Torque

4                7/16-20                 140 In/Lb              4           7/16-20                     220 In/Lb

5                 ½-20                     180 In/Lb               5             ½-20                        260 In/Lb

6                9/16-18                 250 In/Lb              6            9/16-18                    320 In/Lb

8                 ¾-16                      550 In/Lb             8             3/4 -16                     560 In/Lb

We aren't talking about wrench size here, we are talking about bolt thread size. A common 7/16-20 bolt will have a 1/2" hex head that the wrench goes onto.

Here you go, just plug in your numbers and it will tell you what you need to know. I don't think any fittings on a Wheel Horse are 3/4-16 thread but if they were then would be about 47 foot pounds of torque.

I’m not sure I’d count on hardware store o-rings for the ORB fittings. ORBs typically need a high-durometer Buna rubber.

Try this place. I’ve bought fittings from them but never just the rings.

Regular Buna-n may not be compatible with hot hydraulic fluid. Perhaps either Viton or HNBR may be a better choice.

SAE ORB #5  use   Dash # 905 O rings

SAE ORB #6  use  Dash # 906 O rings.

@AHS

You'll likely be able to get the correct fittings at a place that makes hoses for loggers or other equipment up there.

Take the numbers above and show them.

As far a the fittings themselves you are correct if they are SAE ORB#6...the # 5 are  much harder to find...

Quite true.

The shop I went to down here hadn't seen the size 5 in a looooong time.
