Keaton 437 #1 Posted November 12 I have my little springfeild with a Briggs and Stratton and the exhaust is supposed to go down into the frame but I don't want the underside of my tractor possibally catch fire, so I took the exhaust out the front with a muffler, I wanted to wrap it in something, would exhaust wrap work, I saw it said its to improve performance, I just need it do I don't fry my leg would an exhaust heat wrap work? there is a picture below, I took the muffler off and put a 90, then a piece of pipe and muffler. SylvanLakeWH 25,618 #2 Posted November 12 Can you use exhaust wrap yes. Would it prevent burning leg probably not.... that foot rest puts your leg right on top the muffler... I'm thinking a shield is needed...
Keaton 437 #3 Posted November 13 @SylvanLakeWH the exhaust is no longer like that I don't have a current picture but I made a little drawing it is about in inch and a half from the hood by the muffler, if I were to hit it with my leg when driving I would not like to burn myself or burn the paint on the hood, i will attach a picture of the front of the tractor, i since got a hotdog style muffler from menards
Pullstart 62,945 #5 Posted November 13 Header wrap does hold heat in. Will it improve performance? Not from the butt dyno on your tractor.
Keaton 437 #6 Posted November 13 I could care less about performance I just don't want to hit my leg by accident and get a big burn id rather get a smaller burn at least. or, none at all
