Hi all,

Family X575 with Kawasaki FD671D that has a lot of hours on it (3k) and has about 95 psi compression on 1 cylinder and was a bit out of range on leak down test.

Would like to rebuild if its worth it. Its otherwise in good shape. New oem carb about 70 hours ago.

I haven't been able to find a short block or a rebuild kit other than standard size. I'm sure I'll need to find a small engine shop near Erie, Pa to bore the block etc.

Anyone deal with these motors?

Thanks!

Thanks... I was able to find a low hour engine from a newer machine (same model engine)

So I'll service it and install.

Thanks for the info achto!

Update:

I was able to source a used engine with about 480 hrs.

So far so good.  I replaced all fuel lines, rebuilt carb with oem kawi parts. Took apart all electrical connections and cleaned.

Also replaced the front axle bolt and bushing.  That took care of the slop on it.

Just need to slide the hood back on and we're back in business!

This thing isn't a Wheel Horse, but it sure is built well.  Not a fan of plastic hood and front bumper thing, but ours is still in good shape overall.

I really like the foot control on Deere's over my 416H oem copy.  It works very well, but Deere is more ergonomic for your right foot and a little easier to control.

Hopefully this will last a long time!
