Greg Cullison 40 #1 Posted November 9 1990 (?) 312-8 with the Kohler Magnum 12. Can the fuel filter be picked up at my local Tractor Supply store? Anyone know the part number off hand? Thanks!
953 nut 55,394 #2 Posted November 9 (edited) By fuel filter are you looking for an in-line clear plastic filter, if so you can buy any 1/4" filter off the shelf. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/arnold-universal-fuel-filter-4441282?store=1398&cid=Google-Shopping-Sustain&utm_medium=Google&utm_source=Shopping&utm_content=Sustain&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiArby5BhCDARIsAIJvjIRL4bGw_EqlPQX9MCRCKk8sY63RQ8NsPA7Z4lZ52qE2A7HBydrpngcaAo1aEALw_wcB Edited November 9 by 953 nut
Greg Cullison 40 #3 Posted November 9 Yeah it looks pretty simple and that would work. I didn't know if there were different levels of "filtration" that could starve the engine of fuel. Happened to me on a generator once... Thanks!!
squonk 41,171 #4 Posted November 9 Stay away from these type filters. They tend to air lock (happened to me more than once) and the cheap version of these the media falls apart.

Bill D 1,927 #7 Posted November 10 I use the Briggs and Stratton filters they sell at TSC. Good quality.
squonk 41,171 #8 Posted November 10 I've had 4 of those cheap clear plastic fuel filters air lock. Even with an electric pump. Had a couple tractors in for service with them and the fuel bowls are filled with filter material. I use the red Breaks and Scrap Em pancake filters now

One reason I prefer the clear filter is so I can see any particulate it catches. Definitely a plus with a metal tank or if you have a fuel sensor that can drop debris.
