Front Steering Spindle Lube

May be an exercise in futility. I am working the front axle on my loader tractor. I have bushed the spindle bores with oil lite bushings. Going to use thrust bearings in place of the original slip washers. The needles are quite thin. I am thinking a lighter lube than the grease we normally use might be better to allow the needles to roll easier.

Which lubricant would you recommend? If the spindles were sealed, I would consider gear oil.

@Marv  thats easy , https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lucas-Xtra-Heavy-Duty-Grease/36052505?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=2038&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=2222222227736052505_117755028669_12420145346&wl0=, been using this for years , bombproof , polyurea rated , 550 deg drop point , stands up to just about anything . would never trust a sealed bearing unless its a , SPECIFIC  , VERIFIED , LUBRICANT , FILLED , heat /  stress , wipes out most lubes , polyurea rating assures  staying in place . want to stop the bearing noise on a mower deck ? , clean out original bearings and re grease , or get new bearings with wide rubber side shields , remove shields , clean out , the generic lube in there , basically a ceiling fan bearing ! refill with lucas green . made for brutal , applications . all my front wheel set ups have , lucas green grease , hillman machine bushings, no sloppy side play . in stock at walmart $ 8 , pete

I would use the same EP 1 or 2  grease as used on the spindles. since the thrust bearing is located below the axle spindle hole it is going to get grease from the spindle hole sooner or later.  

There's no housing to keep a thinner lune around that thrust bearing.

Thanks for your replies. I am probably overthinking this. I was thinking a lighter grease would allow the needles to roll easier.
