Brinly Tub cart build

Haven't seen much on creating or building the wheelbarrow tub cart that hooks onto a sleeve hitch. 

 

So i started out with a brinly sleeve hitch Disc at auction no one wanted so I gave $10  and removed the hitch frame and sold the remaining disc on Marketplace.

 

The remaining items with the exception of the flat metal plate and wheelbarrow (obviously) where made from scraps laying around.

I decided to fill the bolt holes in the tub with JB weld.

So to have wheelbarrow close to level you need to raise the flat end of the wheelbarrow by about 2"(the round end is the dump side). I did this by placing a piece of 2" receiver tube on the frame. Now the frame does have a drop/bend but not enough to aid with the need to raise one end by making the ears  shorter by 2 inches and leave enough metal to allow a large pivot bolt/pin to be used (i used 5/8"')

The slots on the hinge plate are probably not necessary since your not going to need that once set in place they just happened to be in the metal I used.

Here the latch is similar to the original except the threaded bolt with spring is welded to the top bracket and sets on top of a bolt head. 

 

The original design is a plow bolt ..and that is to hard for me to replicate. 

 

The u shape in the handle was mostly grinding to fit the lip of the wheelbarrow.

Here is the final assembly before I tear down and prime and paint.

 

Note this is a 5cu ft vs a 4 cu ft that brinly originally used so I should be able to get about 400-500lbs of material in here.
