EB-80/8inPA 1,681 #3 Posted November 9, 2024 (edited) Rest assured, as wonderful as some of these hydrocarbonical formulations may be, they aren’t any good for yer joints. But these surgeons have got those procedures down pat these days and you’ll be fine! I’m sure we’ll all say a prayer for you nevertheless. Godspeed, good man of lubrification, may your recovery be frictionless as always! Edited November 9, 2024 by EB-80/8inPA 2
Handy Don 12,544 #4 Posted November 9, 2024 9 hours ago, peter lena said: . no grease fittings , Interesting you mention this. One of the major surgical concerns for replacement hips and knees is the risk that they can harbor an infection because there is no intrinsic blood circulation in the replacement joint to deliver white blood cells. That’s the reason for such careful post-surgical dressing on the sites of the incisions. It's also why any sign the patient has a cold or other infection will nix a prospective surgery.
peter lena 8,812 #5 Posted November 9, 2024 @Handy Don prior to having my knees done , went thru all the horror stories , and looked for the dr with best reputation , he was the only one at the time using MAKO , ROBOTIC ASSIST . almost comical now , but 3 days in the hospital , to verify starting transition ! then 10 days in a nursing home ! to verify, daily progress and no issues, once home , regular therapy , and medical check out ! almost funny today , none of that , each time I went back to DR, verify x ray statis , overall function , always spot on , listening today its almost a casual inconvenience , to have this done ! seen many of the butchered free hand operations , erratic , angular , pulled , indented , " surgery ", mine are lazer straight / flat , thats what you want . another thing is to get personally involved , in your recovery , incredible references , a flat roller stool , for me , opened up my world , upright straight spine support , and leg , pull ,push , was the answer , looking forward to it , and free / easy walking , pete
