I don't have a clue what that means. I reset the photo app and it's still not working. :ranting:

A 200 error says the server is accepting your actions.  It's a "no problem found."

I would try clearing your browser's cache, and if that does not work, try logging in to the forum with a different web browser, then try adding your photo again from the alternate browser.

EDIT: Testing photo upload today:

WHX??

I get that at times too Bob. Usually goes away if I just try reloading the pic but not always. Next time it happens I'll take a screen shot and ask about it in issues.

I cleared the cache and cleaned things up but it still did it. I really don't want to change the browser and I shouldn't need to. It worked for years and just started acting up. I think I broke it.

That happened once earlier today, Got the error, retried and it worked. Now it's a constant no go.

Using a different browser would just have been a test.  Feel free to private message me if you would like me to continue to try to resolve this.

I apologize for dragging this thread off-topic.

No need to apologize at all. You're trying to help and I appreciate it. I will PM you but it will need to wait until tomorrow. :)

I tried again this morning and it worked. Painfully slow though.

Anyways, here's my new toy. As I mentioned earlier, before we moved to Florida I had a Lincoln 225. I don't remember ever cranking it up beyond 120 amps. This one goes up to 130 so I think it will suit me just fine. I wanted to stick to a 120 volt machine so I didn't have to do any wiring in the garage. Looking forward to using it. First time for flux core.:)

@Pete D I do appreciate your input on this. I suspect I'm not done with the issue but we'll see. :handgestures-thumbupright:

I have a Hobart 400. It also runs on 120 and flux core. Anything up to 5/16 steel welds up great. I have used it on 1/2 steel with no issues. It can do regular MIG but I've never bought shielding gas yet.

Once you get used to it, these lighter duty welders are awesome.

Handy Don

:text-yeahthat:

Agreeing.

Be sure the garage wiring is for a legitimate 20 amp circuit, i.e. 12 ga wiring to the breaker box.

A 15 amp circuit will trip out often enough to be really, really annoying and a 20 amp breaker with inadequate wiring is a recipe for bad.

Never could get the hang of welding. But I used to be able to braze a penny to a gnat's butt with a Oxy/ ACt torch. Snip off mufflers without damaging the pipe inside but now my eyesight has changed so much I can just use a torch to heat parts. And that bother's my eyes even with the best welding glasses.

Lucky for me I have a friend a couple blocks away with a bandsaws, Mig,Tig,Stick, Plasma, lathe and mill. Just takes an extra day or 2 to get something done.

I’ve heard the Lincoln stick welder was also available in a DC version that was easier to operate then the AC unit.

Yup. I learned on a Lincoln AC/DC machine.

They still have both. AC only and AC/DC. I had the AC only. Bulletproof workhorses.

The Lincoln "buzzbox" or "tombstone" I bought several years ago was already 3 weeks older than dirt.

The guy I got it from was amazing. That thread is around here somewhere.

With the help of Redsquare and friends here I learned to stick weld enough to hold metal together.

A (couple?) Years ago my father gave me a basically NOS HF 120V flux core welder.

He figured it was 12 to 15 years old. He remembered one of his employees using it for a minute but that was it. Shelfed it.

Last year I decided to learn to run flux core.

I got some better wire.

THAT'S A GAME CHANGER.

I'll likely always keep both.

I looked at countless reviews on these little welders. Often the wire quality was mentioned. A spool of .030 was included with the welder. More than once the Arccaptain wire was praised. One guy even said he's going to switch to it from his usual more expensive brand. :dunno:

The more recent wires may be quite a bit better than the ones that were shipped a dozen or more years ago. I've read those same reviews.

I don't weld enough that I will likely develop a preference for a brand so I bought several rolls of what was recommended by a few different people. I don't remember what it was.
