clueless 3,007 #1 Posted November 6 I need the correct part numbers for the front spindles for the 6" wheels or they the 110212 and 213?
Lee1977 6,684 #2 Posted November 6 (edited) Since Toro dropped the Wheel horse Parts Viewer there is no clear answer. There are two diferent 6" spindles. My 85 model 312 set has the cotter key holding the spindle to the axle. My later model 312 has a snap ring, not sure what year it is. Both spindles will work as the axle number did not change 5638 and 5638-01 on some later models. I've checked numbers on Parts Tree all had a "?" beside them, Toro kept changing number each year, so on way to tell. Edited November 6 by Lee1977
peter lena 8,661 #3 Posted November 6 @clueless don,t forget about the , washer bushings , to the wheels 3/4x 1-1/4 , 18 ga , also a good time to clean out and re grease , what ever bearings you have , the original lube is trash , lucas green HD walmart 8 $ , combination of wheel side shucking, elimination and polyurea hi stress grease , makes that entire set up work with ease . having that in every area , that used to whine , and lubrication fail , is a worthwhile change . amazing transformation to entire , PTO belt driven set up , once you do it , you will convert other bearing failure areas , ever listen / feel the bearing drag , on a belt driven anything ? my decks spin by hand at pto down belt drive area . just a suggestion . pete

These spindles would jack the front end up unless you swapped out wheels fo r6" Yes I would be putting 6" wheels on it, other than the wheel size any reason they won't work on one of my C's. Looks like it's not a problem. I have a 37" SD deck but no 300/400 tractors anymore. My BIL has my 312 now but we put a 36" RD deck on it so I'm thinking about swiping the spindles on my '77 B80. Lee1977 6,684 #8 Posted November 9 (edited) Changing to 8" wheel and tires on the 6" spindles makes very little difference. Here a picture of my 1985 321-8 with 400x8 triribs.. I'm not sure what model this 312-8 is 88 or 89 is my guess and with 400x8s triribs in the front and 25 x900 x12s on the rear it makes a lot of difference. To put the mower deck on this one you havr to bock ikt front of the deck 2"or so off the floor to get it attached. I have a 48" deck on it now, don't have any pictures of with it on.
