8ntruck 6,968 #1 Posted Tuesday at 12:42 AM If all goes well this month, we are planning to get EJ the 8N out to our 20 acre woods. We need to make a decision to either move it back to my friend's warehouse or to come up with some sort of shelter for it out on our property. We expect to need that shelter for up to 2 years. One option for cover on the property is the Harbour Freight style steel frame/fabric cover type. I know that many of you have used one of these. How long did they take to assemble? Once in service, how long did they last? Thanks in advance.
ebinmaine 67,106 #2 Posted Tuesday at 12:56 AM Buy one for the FRAME. Get a good strong heavy TARP. We've tried several between friends and family. The original covers that come in the inexpensive and midgrade (any residential) portable garages are good for ONE season. One. My experience shows me that ONLY the super HD commercial grade tarps are worth relying on. Big $$$$$$
WHX?? 48,696 #3 Posted Tuesday at 12:56 AM (edited) Save your money they are garbage. Or better yet let me know when you are throwing money out the window I'll stand outside and collect it ... Update on that thread: I give the frame to @Achto and him and another buddy and they order a replacement cover which lasted how long Dan?? I guess they gave him a discount on a better grade cover right Dan??? Edited Tuesday at 01:02 AM by WHX?? speeling

I guess they gave him a discount on a better grade cover right Dan? 10 months on the standard cover. Shelter Logic was more than willing to replace the standard cover, new cover would not come with a warranty though. I choose to have them credit me the price of a standard cover and apply it to the cost of a cover that has a 10yr warranty. One year in with the better cover & all looks well so far. Don't know why they do not offer a new shed package with the 10yr cover or their next upgrade of the 15yr cover. Tips on a Shelter Logic "Fake Garage". 1- The standard cover will not last much over 10months if it is in direct sunlight. The south side of mine was breaking down quite badly while the North side was completely fine. 2- Moister can be an issue inside of these shelters. Absolute best cure for this it to cover the entire floor area with a tarp. This keeps the ground moister out completely. First hand experience with this is nothing but positive. I (keep) learning the hard way quit being a tightwad on some things. Thought I bought a cheap missus and look how that turned out.

C-85 681 #8 Posted Tuesday at 01:45 AM We looked at Shelter Logic and then we went with Farm Tek. They both seem heavy duty, but this one had the clear roof, so we went with that. This one is pretty heavy duty and came with a 15 year warranty. We've managed to keep the snow off from it as much as we could and it is doing good, it is 7 years old now. The HD type EB spoke of right there. $$ but worth it if you want it to go awhile. That one is huge ... almost fit two deuce and a halfs in there.
