WH654 23 #1 Posted November 4 I have a 752 that I just bought and the throttle was all messed up. so I fixed the throttle so that it works really nice, but I eliminated the governor. it runs fantastic and the throttle works great, stays wherever you put it, but I’m wondering if I want the governor back? I enjoy driving around my fields in third gear at idle, but it would be nice if the governor would pick up when I approach a hill or rough to rain. if I set the governor back up, is it sensitive enough that it will give it throttle even from idle when I need more power? gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,078 #4 Posted November 4 Do you understand how a governor works? It tries to reduce the rpm and the higher the rpm the more force it produces to reduce the rpm. On the other side of the governor arm is the throttle cable and spring which is trying to increase rpm. It’s always tempting to listen to an old Kohler chugging way down low, but it is really bad on a splash lube engine.
