elcamino/wheelhorse 9,327 #1 Posted November 3 I am replacing the spindles on a 1972 36-inch RD deck. Does anyone know what the torque specs for the bolts that mount the spindle housing to the deck. I can find specs on the bolts for blades and bolt for the pulleys , but not for the mounting bolts. Anyone want to suggest a SWAG (scientific Wild A** guess) for the torque spec. I did find out that the carriage bolts that WH used are not standard. The square portion of the WH bolts are the same thickness of the deck. I have this spindle identification poster that shows the detail of the decks, including torque spec. If you have a part number, I can find it for you. elcamino/wheelhorse 9,327 #8 Posted November 3 @Ed Kennell Thanks for the chart, the bolts are 3/8 - 16 x 1 carriage style bolt and The square part of the bolt depth is the same thickness as the metal of the deck. @PWL216 I'll get back you , if I can find the part number , The deck number is a 05-620. elcamino/wheelhorse 9,327 #10 Posted November 3 @PWL216 here are the part numbers for the bolts 900234-4 , the nuts are number 915113-6 . The spindle is a number 100675 which was replace by 101525. If you go to any auto parts store and ask them about # ou-812, they will tell you they cannot replace it and they are NLA. You might find one on the shelf of an old True-Value or that oher Auto Store that escapes my mind at the moment.
