Bronco Jody 115 6 #1 Posted November 1, 2024 I just got my first tractor, it’s a 1972 Bronco 14 auto. Saved it from a scrap yard for $125. Got it running and driving. The wiring was crazy bad. It had RCA cables going to the clutch. anyway, I yanked out the mess at the bottom of the head light bulbs and tossed them. Where do I find replacement springs and contacts. I’ve been looking for hours. thanks
Bronco Jody 115 6 #2 Posted November 1, 2024 Here’s a couple pics. the plan is to do some work with it and then restore. I’m having lots of fun going through this site and researching things.
oliver2-44 10,331 #3 Posted November 1, 2024 Lots of free knowledgeable help here, along with some fun kidding around. Love the moss and algae patina NAPA has the springs and contacts for the lights. @squonk is our resident retired NAPA guru and will be here with the part numbers. Post the model & serial numbers from the plate on the left side of the hood stand below the steering wheel/gas tank. That is a great workhorse of a tractor. 1

953 nut 57,755 #5 Posted November 1, 2024 Looking at the pictures I see that your Bronco has battery powered ignition which would make it a 1972 Model 1-0422 or 1-0423. I have attached a link to the owner manual that covers both.
Bronco Jody 115 6 #6 Posted November 1, 2024 Thanks so much guys! it is a 72. I love that it has a cigar lighter. That cracks me up. She had a weed growing in the seat and I had planned to put it in a pot for a laugh. 1
peter lena 9,074 #7 Posted November 1, 2024 @Bronco Jody 115 with patina like that , would seriously consider starting a penetrating oil soak down , that would be working / retaining / enhancing what is there ! mechanicals / electrical / hydraulic , would only enhance that ! my own experience with that is just to let it sit , any further paint related attention should be with a clean oil soaked cloth , DO NOT SAND OR REMOVE , ANY OF THAT EXISTING ORIGINAL PAINT . prefer a hot sun / dry area to allow for lubrication , conversion . having the combination of old school looks , patina , and up to date operational function , would be the deal . that paint will get oil soak dark , showing you its working , just a suggestion , recovered a lot of horse paint , at buff out stage , yours is way past that , save it ! pete
Ed Kennell 40,398 #8 Posted November 1, 2024 to the Jody. Thanks for saving a Classic Wheel Horse. Does the E-PTO work? You are probably aware the early Sundstrands came with ATF (pink) but many were converted to Motor oil(amber). Don't mix the two. 1
Bronco Jody 115 6 #9 Posted November 1, 2024 It has a E-PTO that seems to be locked up. That’s a project for down the road. It did have tranny fluid. Redish and smelled like trans fluid. I replaced it but forgot to change the filter. Oops. I’ll change it again and do the filter soon. It was dirty at the bottom of the tranny.

I absolutely love my Bronco! If your tranny is strong with the ATF, keep using it! Edited November 4, 2024 by kpinnc
Bronco Jody 115 6 #11 Posted November 5, 2024 That thing looks amazing. Do you have front and rear controls with a 3 point? Must be aftermarket I’m guessing

It has held up for more than 10 years! If you zoom in you’ll see a dual spool valve (also from a D-series) in place of the single on a Bronco.
