Mike_eash 59 #1 Posted October 31 Hello guys I am replacing an axle seal on my charger 10 Hydro tranny sunstrand I bought a replacement seal. However the one I pulled out is steel and much thicker then the rubber one I bought. See attached pics Does anyone know If the thinner rubber one works? Just seems much cheaper Does anyone have experience with those?? Any input is always appreciated Thanks in advance Also how can I tell if I have a bad wheelbearing? I heard that can cause seal leaks Take ahold of the end of your axle and attempt to move it up and down/forward and back. There should be NO movement at all. I bought a pair of them years back but was reluctant to use them. The ones I have purchased on and passed along the link to have worked well and match what was used at the factory. stevasaurus 22,841 #16 Posted November 1 Don't quote me, but I think the thicker seals are from National ?? SKF and C/R (Chicago Rawhide) are the same copmpany. Motion Industries has a great catalog on line to try to search out the Thicker Seal and you can search by company.
