ZXT 2,401 #1 Posted October 27 (edited) Hey all! I brought home an older (Early 2000s?) Craftsman to rob the deck off of for another Craftsman I picked up recently (More on that later). According to the tag on the mower, it should've had a 22hp Kohler from the factory. Instead it has a vertical shaft Magnum 18. I've seen tons of M18's in the past and all have been painted black. This one is blue, and has never been repainted. Is it possible this is a replacement engine from Kohler? I know on the K series the replacements were gray, but not sure on these. It's remarkably clean for its age and runs very well. Mower on the trailer is the mower in question. Picture of engine is attached. I swapped it onto a Toro zero turn that had a bad Kohler 22hp V twin for my father in law. Also pictured are three other mowers/GT's that I picked up local from a guy that was moving and wanted them gone. First is a Scotts 2048, second is a Craftsman GT6000, third is a throw-away yard man. Paid $100 for the the lot and recouped half of my money from the yard man on Marketplace. Craftsman has a sleeve hitch and doesn't appear to have ever had a deck, which is where the mower on the trailer came into play. Scotts runs well, has brand new tires, and a new battery. I plan to send it down the road come spring when it will bring more. Any info on the M18 would be appreciated! Edited October 27 by ZXT

Rarely a quiet weekend at our house these days. I had 4 of them with me at the Temple Show. So it was a really busy day. 2
