Cape Codder 5 #1 Posted October 26 My battery dislodged but fortunately the brackets just fell on to the deck, I replaced the battery before but never unhooked the brackets. I can't seem to find anywhere to hook the bottom of the bracket to fasten it down. I have the tray and the brackets just can't seem to find the holes to connect the bracket to. Any help ? Ed Kennell 38,329 #2 Posted October 26 (edited) There are slots on each side about at the mid point of the battery, The hold down bolts will be at an angle pulling the battery down and to the rear. Edited October 26 by Ed Kennell
JCM 9,215 #3 Posted October 26 The 2 J Hooks for lack of a better term go in the 2 holes on both sides of the battery tray which hides them. There is nothing to hold them upright until you install the upper cross bracket then 2 washers and 1/4''- 20 nuts or wing nuts. @Cape Codder
peter lena 8,653 #4 Posted October 26 @Cape Codder another change transition , years ago put a 3/8" x 6 long diameter extension spring into a small hose , hooked that to back of dash board ,and onto solenoid bolt on mount point , tension on battery top edge , never touch it zero problems , no rust rot , after verifying its solid function , added it to the other 2 horses , very simple , cheap / easy , also bombproof , pete
Cape Codder 5 #5 Posted October 27 Thanks guys, found the 2 holes. The tray was making them difficult to see. 1
