I drink whatever Mrs. Sylvan makes. She's the coffee aficionado... I just drink it and give thanks... :bow-blue:

Other way 'round here.

People think I'm kidding when I say the BBT does 99% of the food & drink prep.

Nope.

I have ONE peoples nourishing responsibility.

Coffee.

You're not alone Kevin. We use the k cups but with the one use thingys. My usual routine is get up, let the dog(s) out, start up a cup and go to my computer room. In a couple minutes I go back out to get my coffee. This morning I went back out and cleaned up a counter full of coffee. Fortunate about 99% stays on the counter and none goes down the front into the drawers. But I knew that already. :D

Oh Bob.

Bob. Bob. Bob.

😬

Did we forget something?

I have an older single brew Keurig with a mug sensor so it will not start brewing without a mug in place. My wife got it for me for Christmas years ago. I am sure she got this model to prevent me from having to clean up buckets of coffee.

And here I thought my wife was the only person in the world with that talent.       I drink tea so my mornings tend to be uneventful.

We had a couple coffee floods at our VRBO beach house last week.      Seems the lid on the pot needs to be in a particular position to allow the coffee to drip into the pot.

I make my coffee using the pour over method.  I like iced coffee, so I put it in the fridge for the next morning.

We use tank type brewers.  Drip through grounds into a tank instead of a glass pot.  Valve at the bottom allows dispensing into single mugs.  Our usual batch size is the 8 cup marking.

Occasionally,  a coffee ground will get into the valve and hold it open.  The result is multiple mugs of coffee on the counter - and floor.  Like @Racinbob, discovered when returning to the house from the parimiter patrol with the dog.

I don’t drink a ton of coffee but when I do I go the K cup route with the little container to use your own grounds.

It’s usually at 5:15 in the morning when I am barely functioning and have to leave by 6:15 to get to work by 6:30.
I set it up and start it then go get ready. When I get back from work then I find the counter full of grounds that somehow I never saw…

As I have aged, I've gotten picky about my coffee. If it's weak, I won't drink it. Restaurants hate me. If it's weak I'll send it back. I don't use sugar, but I do use cream or 1/2 & 1/2. Don't put milk in it or offer me milk to put in it. I'm not British. Having said that, I too have had some brain-dead experiences making coffee. So don't feel like the Lone Ranger.

Not being a coffee drinker this thread really doesn't apply to me.  My wife, on the other hand, requires plenty of of it but I not going to invite her to chime in,  I tell those who inquire why I don't drink coffee, I want to keep my body pure.  I do enjoy hot tea during the winter.

A chief's cup had crust in it and I washed it.

Oh, that's a no no. When I had an office equipment service company, we had a Bunn commercial coffee maker. We kept coffee going all day. We used pre-measured packets so there was never a problem with coffee strength. I didn't mind employees taking the initiative to clean the pots and baskets, but there was a strict rule about washing my cup...DON'T. If you find it necessary to touch my cup, rinse only. It takes a long time to get a cup/mug properly seasoned. I can't say I blame your chief. The first time my office manager washed my cup, she suddenly had some work that needed to be done after hours on a Friday. My cup never got washed again.

Not being a coffee drinker

On a submarine coffee was available 24/7 but I never drank it. It was always bug juice (koolaid) or soda which was also 24/7.

Now it's a cup or better every day.
