kpinnc 12,065 #1 Posted October 19 My FIL bought a “extra” set of spindles and needs bearings for them. None of my 42 inch decks have the 5/8 spindle shafts, and I’m not sure what year model those started. Anybody know by chance?

Lee1977 6,662 #4 Posted October 21 The metric spindle bearings are 6203 2rs - 40 mm OD, 17 mm ID and 12 mm thick. The housings for the 3/4" keyed and the metric spindles are the same. You will be missing the 17 mm spacers that go between the bearings if original are 3/4" keyed.
peter lena 8,631 #5 Posted October 21 @Lee1977 those are the bearings that I regularly use , and also clean out and re grease , very common ceiling fan bearing , thats probably the reason for so many related failures , original lube , breaks down / fails easily . as you know , bearing clean out , and re grease is very easy , first thing I do , go greasy , lucas HD CHASSIS green , 550 drop point , polyurea rated , no noise or failures , pete
