ri702bill 8,326 #4 Posted October 19 Are you using the Belt Guard installed correctly for each??
Ed Kennell 38,181 #5 Posted October 19 If the belt guard on the idler pulley is the adjustable type (not welded) ,try rotating it CCW so it is right at the contact point of the belt on the pulley. The guard may be contacting the belt before the belt is disengaged.
Ed Kennell 38,181 #6 Posted October 19 The video on page two of this post may help.

Is the drive pulley on the engine pictured the same size as the other two Raiders? is the top cross section width on all three belts 21/32"? Some aftermarket belts being sold under the Wheel Horse number are nearly 1/8" wider making then ride higher in the pulley which results in them being effectively shorter. 2 hours ago, Ed Kennell said: If the belt guard on the idler pulley is the adjustable type (not welded) ,try rotating it CCW so it is right at the contact point of the belt on the pulley. Like Ed was saying, with the clutch down the belt tab should slightly contact the belt as in the first picture, with the clutch released it should not touch as in picture two. Ed Kennell 38,181 #13 Posted October 19 Is there any sign of a missing tab on the belt guard that would be in the same location as the one shown in my video?
