AlexR 627 #1 Posted October 17 Got this snowblower for a pretty good deal I think. It was $125. Getting it tuned up for winter, flipped the scraper blade and got new stainless hardware for it. And Adjusted the shoes to keep the blade slightly off the ground might have to adjust those more once I start using it. Adjusted the chain tension. And going to weld a tab on the flag rod to match the factory spring assist lift. Since mine doesn't have that and I don't have any hydraulic lift tractors. JimSraj 429 #5 Posted October 18 Alexa, thanks for the quick response. I’ve seen that picture before but I guess I’m a little dense but I can’t make out where and how the eyebolt is inserted. ri702bill 8,308 #7 Posted October 18 The use of the assist spring is truly a "balancing act ".' Too much tension and the snowblower is too light to stay down onto the ground to work effectively. Not enough makes lifting a chore. Good old cheap store-brand vegetable oil cooking spray is what I use to coat the inside of the tub, auger, and chute. AlexR 627 #13 Posted October 20 Got the blower sprayed down with pb silicone lubricant pre-seasoning. I will spray it down again before we get a snowstorm. And got a spring installed, For keeping it parked I put 4x4 blocks under the skids to keep less tension and weight on everything while it's parked. 1 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
