All right, I brought it home today and changed the tranny fluid, adjusted the clutch and put the new carb on. The number on it is 6105 can I get a year or number of tractor?

Looks good, only needs a good clean up and polish that paint should brighten up.

What I do is put that first half of the top number in the search box above.

" 61 o8k8o2 "

Hit search, but then hit "and" ...

There are ways to check "files" too but I don't remember how.

I'd say you have a 1976 B80 8 speed.

So the 6105 at the bottom doesn’t have meaning?

I'm sure it does but not to the year, make model designation.

There's a ton of info in various threads.

How precise are you looking to be?

Preparation is the first key to a successful finish.  Perseverance is the second. A few years back @JPWH did a thread on the rebuild of his 854. A good portion of it5 was devoted to paint prep and application. This thread should be a god read and furnish a lot of great information.

Here are twenty five threads on paint color selection that have come up here lately.

I’d like to make as nice as I can for 200-300 dollars. If that gives you an idea

Finally got that thread read, thanks 953 that helped. Is there a difference between regal red and international red?

The only way you would see any difference would be if you sprayed them on the same piece. Either one is fine.
