Jason X 19 #1 Posted September 21 (edited) A part fell off my 72 Raider 10-8 today and I found out the hard way that it was the band that goes around the clutch wheel. It's the brake. Having done something similar myself, I would never laugh at you. …But I’ll say I will laugh with you. No brakes made my eyes get big on more than one occasion! Lee1977 6,656 #9 Posted September 22 Those older single peddle tractors are the worse once you hit the brake the clutch is disengage and it will freewheel. Steep hill are also bad even with brakes only one wheel will have brakes and the other will freewheel. When that spare minute shows up pop the brake off and post pics. You may be able to replace the shoe. We've had two failures with that. I believe it's because we had the brake band TOO SMOOTH so the silicone didn't have enough rough surface to bond too.
