On the 10 to 16 HP ....

Trash.

The one and only offshore carb I bought was for a 10 HP but listed for 10 to 16 HP.  It ran but wouldn't idle down and baulked on throttle-up.  It had the 26mm throat which was correct for the 10 to 12 HP but when I opened it up I saw the main jet was much larger which would have been on the 14 to 16 HP engine. That thing was never going to work well on either one as shipped. I changed out the main jet and needle from the old Carter as well as replacing the plastic float and all went well.

@WHX?? Sounds like this three pager is getting close to being done. That is the best part having good friends as a project. I have at one time found one sitting under a deck or a porch for 25 years. Brought that one back to life. I hope you enjoy it.

@WHX??  different views , splash pad  or oil down ?  personally would only  oil soak down patina  , thats my first transition on any rusty pick up I get . don,t even touch  the finish for days , just let it soak in the  recovery process , that oiled look would enhance what's there , would also rub it down with a clean oiled cloth , do not , sand  or remove any of that  base coat .  just me , pete

I dont really know if pete approves of this, but as a variation on h oil finsh, I rub some 0w16 synthetic oil out of my Toyota Rav 4 oil change on it a time or two and then use the lighter penetrating oil for a couple more applications. On working tractors I don"t know it that makes any difference.

@ohiofarmer  regularly "  feed "  any painted surface with lubrication, especially the older neglected anything , usually like a penetrating type oil spray first , for a spray / soak  penetration ,  also like  a warm finish / indoors or outside sun , to enhance paint feed . clean soft cloth with more penetrant , wipe down , might even , luck out with a paint break thru grunge state , at that point , like a 6" electric palm buffer , cleaner wax , usually breaks thru , not a  show queen , but definitely better than it was . my 3 horses have all been buffed out with lubrication base . never  expect to go from neglect to show queen , very happy to have lubrication based paint recovery , always looks period correct ,another thing about  lubrication recovery , is a quick touch up , very easy , always looks good , dust / dirt  free , pete

You'd think a guy like @WHX?? that has a BUNCH of Wheelhorses would have a parts dept.
