pfrederi 17,743 #12 Posted September 11 at $8 per wheel replace them every couple years...
Handy Don 12,282 #13 Posted September 11 Be aware of the plastic hub with no bushing in the bore. These are intended for push mowers and will NOT stand a lot of side force (as might be seen by a deck during a sharp turn or when being mounted/unmounted). Still, at the price replacing every few years, per @pfrederi is probably a deal! 1 hour ago, pfrederi said:
peter lena 8,656 #14 Posted September 12 @elcamino/wheelhorse 7" wheels are ideal for a deck , the issue is the construction of the wheel , typically chinese junk , with push in bearings , and weak wheel design . would look look for a wheel in smaller version for a zero turn mower set up , have personally hunted around for solid wheels , don't expect to fine exactly what you want , it will be for something else , has to be able to handle side loading , at bearing mount point , would also favor a smooth tread point , so wheel can slide , and not side grip , that pulls wheel apart . my initial trials were good , but as I went on , the wheel to bearing point just fell apart , might make an axel from threaded rod , so you could elastic lock nut the bearing hold in place . starts to get , repetitive with issues , pete
953 nut 55,395 #15 Posted September 13 I picked up a pair of deck wheels from A-Z at the show along with new shoulder bolts. Cost more than the plastic wheels but should last much longer. https://www.a-ztractor.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=deck+wheels
