Dennis A. Ryan 1 #1 Posted September 9 I have a 1990s, 267 Hydro tractor. The steering has a lot of play in the steering wheel which is not that big an issue, but the gear on the steering wheel shaft and the flat half - round geared plate it meshes with are both worn. I’m afraid one or both will eventually strip and I’ll lose steering. Is there an adjustment to make the two geared parts mesh tighter together, or must one or both be replaced? It’s a safe bet if so, these parts must be obsolete and I’d be searching for used ones. Do all 260 series have the same steering gears? I would assume so? thanks Denny R.

953 nut 55,220 #3 Posted September 9 You may be able to find NOS parts at K&B Parts, send a PM to @76c12091520h or could be some good used replacement parts at A-Z Tractor, call Lincoln. https://www.a-ztractor.com/
ACman 7,618 #4 Posted September 10 (edited) I have an old 200 series that had lots of play as you described . Without to much trouble my cousin was able to pull the steering shaft up without having to remove it . He cut off the lower section of the worn gear off with a death wheel. When it went back together the shaft had enough room to slide further down enough so the newer unworn part of the gear took up most of the slack in the worn fan gear . This was on an older 212 model but seems it was a common issue with the 200 series . Edited September 10 by ACman
