What type of ignition do you have - battery powered or breakerless magneto.

How many key positions?

Have a tractor model number?

Gt 14's came with Kohler K321 engine.  It is probably a coil/points system - if the engine is still original.

A Wheel Horse GT-14 is the only information he has offered. That is like asking for a set of spark plugs for a Ford passenger car.

If we don't get it right this fellow is in more trouble.

There are 9 different GT-14 models and I don't feel like digging up all those wiring diagrams to see what model uses what ignition switch.

This thread should be moved to Wheel Horse Electrical or Wheel Horse General section. This area is for electric tractors only. Will get more replies elsewhere...

@cumminscook, as Garry said we need a bit more information to provide a correct answer. The model number tag is on the right hand side of the dash tower, we need to know that number to know what electrical system you have.  First, are you sure you need a new ignition switch?  What is or isn't happening that leads you to think a new switch is needed? What trouble-shooting have you done?

Looking at the hood decals on your GT-14 it may be a 1970, here is a link to information on it.

That would be a 1972,  totally different ignition wiring from the 1970 so please don't use that diagram. Presuming the wiring on your tractor has not been altered it should be like the 1972 Bronco with battery ignition. You will need to do a bit of rewiring to use the 1043-990 but it will get the job done for you and the 101917 switch may not be available any more. You will no longer have the ignition only position where the PTO can't be turned on but that was an unnecessary position in my opinion. The basic drawing below the attachment may help you, it uses the 103-990.

If you want to make the ignition switch wiring neat there is a 5-wire connector available to do so. Click on the picture to see it.
