Scott from ontario 3 #52 Posted October 25 Hello everyone who has helped me out with the transmission. What can I use to replace the choke and throttle cables with the handle ends are original and I was going to put a electric fuel pump on it since the manual one does not work anymore just not sure on the fuel pump pressure
953 nut 55,734 #53 Posted October 25 An electric low pressure fuel pump (around 2 psi) located lower than the outlet of the fuel tank is a big plus. There have been lots of threads on here recommending various brands, read them over and decide. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?&q=electric fuel pump brand&search_and_or=and&sortby=relevancy 2 hours ago, Scott from ontario said: replace the choke and throttle cables with the handle ends are original We are still talking about the 953, correct? I have had success carefully opening the stamped metal clamps that hold the cable conduit in place and replacing the entire thing using universal cable from any big box store. Set the cable conduit where it needs to be and carefully clamp it back in place.

My comment about the pen spring was intended as a joke. Sorry if it confused you. The actual spring in the transaxle is heavier and stronger, I know @stevasaurus has posted the dimensions and might kindly do it again!
stevasaurus 22,841 #56 Posted October 30 @Handy Don , I know I measured that spring, but I can not find my notes or where I might have posted it. Shynon's post in post #48 is correct. MacMaster Carr should have a spring that should work...3/16 to 1/4" outside diameter & 1 1/4 to 1 1/2" long. Springs have 2 purposes...1. to pull something 2. to push something You want a spring that looks like the spring in a ball point pen...ie...it pushes the detent balls into the notches in the shift rails. Scott, try calling Lincoln at A to Z. I can't believe TORO does not have these in stock.
