But we have an issue with our mower’s transmission pulley been totally worn out. Would you guy know what part number this is based on the pictures and where to get in in Europe ? cheers ! Felix P. Lee1977 6,659 #6 Posted September 3 I don't know what changes thay my over there, the spindle looks to be metric 17 mm at the bearings and 5/8" for the pulley and nut. I don't see why you can't use a standard 42" side discharge pulley. What they did on that pulley you have was used a 1/2" belt pulley on top and a 5/8" belt pulley that lets a the belt run deeper in the pulley. I'll have a look at those idler pullys. Maybe a good time to replace them too i guess. I'm right to think that the hole in the center of the pully should not be round but have some notches in order to drive the Spindle Shaft ? peter lena 8,625 #12 Posted September 5 @Brockport Bill your excellent 36 " rear discharge deck picture , also shows the perfect spot for a rear center belt flat pulley , center lift rod area , note hole just above the belt ? drilled another hole ,BELOW THAT CENTER HOLE , spaced up 3 " flat pulley , pushing up lightly against the belt , eliminated the long unsupported belt bounce , have that set up on 3 , 42 " R/D decks , been bombproof , for function , naturally , re greased that new pulley grease , no whyining noise , that belt tension spring / slide point is very quiet / happy . that belt return slide point , is telling you how how good or bad your deck is moving , if its a BUZZING MESS , chances are you have bearing issues , incremental bearing lube failure , starts the bounce , add long unsupported drive belt , and you have , collective stress cracking , very easy to improve this spot . your past responses , makes me send this to you , look at repetitive problem areas , usually a function detailing eliminates it , pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I think the top pulley has a deeper groove than normal to accommodate the change in belt angle when deck height / cutting height is altered, and reduce the possibility of the belt climbing over the top flange of the pulley? So it appears, at first glance, that the pulley is meant for a larger section belt, or is worn to excess? My 36” r/d deck had a broken lower flange, I couldn’t find another, so I machined off the broken piece, turned up a new piece and bolted it to the main assembly.
