Wheelhorse#1 1,670 #1 Posted August 27 (edited) So looking at this .12 kohler.8 speed tranny. Is this basically the same as a C series 121? The guy says he can’t find the model # Hood decal is different than a C series. It isn’t a hydro as pictured but looks the same as this one. This one looks modified or something. ebinmaine 67,768 #2 Posted August 28 The one pictured above is a late 70s C121 Automatic with hydro lift. It looks odd because there's a side cover missing. If yours is identical other than the transmission you'd be looking at a C121-8. Pics would be needed for proper identification. 2
ri702bill 8,387 #3 Posted August 28 Seat pan is raised. Looks to be a mid 1970's, by the hood ornament....

Lee1977 6,682 #6 Posted August 28 It's a 78 or 79 hood stand don't think the fender has been raised. The fender may be Wheel Horse off a lawn tractor. The turn down to the shifter plate is shorter it's also narrower. Could be an older hood or some one added a hood ornament; It has the 5 3/8" width front wheels like the later C-series. I can can't see if it has the shaker engine mounts, but the engine could have been changed. It is a Wheel Horse of some model.

Thanks for all of the replies.Im going to get a pic of the machine I’m looking at and post. What threw me off was the decal on the hood. All the C-series I’ve seen have numbers included on the decal this one doesn’t.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,072 #8 Posted August 28 In 1978 the ID tags are on the front lip of the hoodstand left side and face the engine. One picture shows the ID plate and the steering fan gear behind it. Click on the fuzzy picture and you will see a few examples.

Wheelhorse#1 1,670 #12 Posted August 31 (edited) Today I made the drive to take a look at it myself ,with trailer in tow. It’s a little rougher than I thought but it had been sitting in a corn field for a few yrs. C-101 8 speed .1979 if I’m reading the ID tag right. The deck is in great shape.Someone made a couple scalp wheels out of logs 🪵 Edited August 31 by Wheelhorse#1
