Keaton 437 #1 Posted August 18 hello, I am rebuilding my 702 engine and need some help, I got the crank and piston in, and I did not put the cam in because I need help on the governor whatever parts came out are in a bag I have the cam and the governor parts, so bassically how do I put the governor back together on the inside and but the cam in right? and I need to align the timing also correct? and one more thing I found out that it is already .010 over so been rebuilt I got it and it looked rough so I took it out. thanks-Keaton
953 nut 55,396 #2 Posted August 18 LAST OUT.......FIRST IN When you took the engine apart the governor was the last thing to come out and needs to be the first thing to go back in. @prondzy did an outstanding job of documenting an engine rebuild, read it from start to finish and follow his advice.
pfrederi 17,743 #3 Posted August 18 I have Chapter 12 (reassembly) of the K series Service manual printed out on real old fashioned paper. Then I use an old fashioned pen or pencil and put a tick mark by each step as I complete it...(Have had to go to colored pencils now been through it a few times...) 1

Keaton 437 #7 Posted August 20 it turns over good, and I was checking for spark, and the generator started going slower then my cheap Menards switch puffed some white smoke then got hot, I pulled it apart because it was the main starter switch. so I need to see what kind of switch to get is they still make a aftermarket one. 953 nut 55,396 #8 Posted August 20 Your starter/generator draws about a lot of current when in operation, you need to buy a switch that is rated for that. Here is a link for a starter switch that is like the one your 702 came with. https://www.amazon.com/STARTER-SWITCH-Massey-Ferguson-Tractor/dp/B00TD9HROQ/ref=asc_df_B00TD9HROQ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=692875362841&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4539743770113658293&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010285&hvtargid=pla-2281435178098&psc=1&mcid=51933a34d3d133fba0fe8c8d214fe6ca&hvocijid=4539743770113658293-B00TD9HROQ-&hvexpln=73&gad_source=
