1948 Farmall Cub. Family Heirloom..

Bought new by my Grandfather, my dad grew up driving it and it became his tractor when we moved into their newly purchased house  (a month before I was born) on an acre and a half... Finally ended up in storage at my brother's barn , and I worked a deal with him and brought 'er home.. Has a model 22 Sickle Bar mower and a model 189 Moldboard plow (I even have the original owner's manuals)  Also have a model 23A tandem disk harrow  Everything still works... My dad converted it to 12V starter and alternator so I am waiting on getting a new battery for it. Plan to use it on my property (Which so happens to be the same acre and a half my dad owned.. I was born and raised in this house, and am the 4th owner since it was built in 1902. including old original deeds on some of the parcels from as far back as 1872.)   Anyhoo.. Just wanted to post up pics of my latest "Red Arn"  I'll probably sell, trade or swap the sickle bar especially if I find someone with a Levelling and grading blade complete..

@Gasaholic have to marvel at its simplicity / ruggedness, your fathers very smart enhancements , are invisible , yet help to make it a  very useful tractor , thank you for  keeping it going , pete

I had 2 Cubs, a 1947 and a 1950.  Sold or traded them both.  They're good little tractors that can do a lot with 9 horsepower.  Implements are readily available used and usually don't cost too much.

I just may do that, but I have original manuals that came with it plus a Shop manual and original parts manual, along with a small box full of original boxed OEM parts - I may have to get some pics of those ancient weird-lookin'  spark plugs for y'all.. (My Grandpa on my mom's side worked for a IH and Kaiser-Frazer dealer in N.J. way back when - Kevah Konner, Inc, and was a founding member of Kaiser-Frazer owner's club. Had a really nice fully restored Kaiser Darrin convertible.. Was Am. Airlines Pilot and mechanic, and Aircraft mechanic in WW2.)

Having hard copies of the manuals is a bonus, and yes, better than just having downloaded pdfs.  But having both is the best.  Also, you will find brochures on tractors and implements, ads, manuals on implements, etc.  There is a lot there and one can spend hours browsing on what manuals and literature is available for download.
