new carburetor issues

May be a stupid question, but does anyone know how to hammer these out? Found out most of the aftermarket flow-jet carbs come with one of the linkages connected backwards. I will need to hammer this out and flip it around. I just dont know how to get this thing out and replace it (I dont have any fancy tools, and I tried just hammering it out with a small nail and hammer).

You would be best off getting a set of roll pin punches and using the appropriate size to drive it out. A nail will likely damage it. :)

Your old OE linkage MAY fit to replace the "offshore" part...

WHX??

Odd ...all of the offshore Briggs leak jets I have gotten were throttle correct.

Set of roll pin punches. There is no way you can (decently)  maintain a horse without a set.

Cheap set for hobbyist.

You will want some solid back up to support the piece of linkage when you drive the pin out.

I would make up a punch and spacer for use in a small, but heavy duty, C-clamp.

One of those bench top arrbor presses would do the job too.

I'm no B&S expert and only worked on a few, but would it be easier to just correct the linkage? That stop and the screw appears like it may not work properly flipped. :twocents-02cents:

Maybe a pic of the whole thing and linkage not so close up
