ebinmaine 67,484 #2 Posted August 12 Yes they did. Yes they are.... if loose. Yes there are solid mounts available. Not sure who sells them now. Others could chime in there.
ri702bill 8,319 #3 Posted August 12 (edited) Yes, there is one vendor on the "Bay site that sells a nice set of CNC'd aluminum solid mounts for about $60 USD. I purchased a lightly used set from an RS member and installed them on my C81 8 speed. No more shake, and NO more engine twist with the PTO engaged. A true drop-in replacement. Requires lifting the engine and loosening up the rear triangilar frame block to get all 4 in at once... Some folks opt for tubular spacers instead. Wheelhorse#1 1,657 #4 Posted August 12 Thanks fellas I’m going to go check out a I believe to be a 1978 c-141. The price seems reasonable but I really don’t know a lot about the c series but then I recalled the shaker plate deal might be a issue. I’ve never owed a C series so I thought it may be a good winter project, something a little different. Its a hydro as well. Thanks for the knowledge

It’s not running and I know that’s a gamble. The owner said it just needs a starter,if that’s the case I could slap one on quickly he said he didn’t mind. Might be more trouble than it’s worth we shall see .

For a non runner I look at it as a parts rig to determine the value. The engine as a rebuildable core is worth $100 or so. Transmission the same. The rest also has value. To me a non running auto is worth $200 to $300 minimum and the value increases based on condition, implements, other good parts etc. Seat for example adds $50 or more.
JCM 9,162 #10 Posted August 13 My C-165 with shaker plate would loosen all your teeth if I drove it to Hiram Maine and back, let alone loosen up other body parts. It's covered over in the backyard waiting for me to install the carb that someone cleaned for me Like to get it going for the Meet in case someone needs a rider. Still working on the trail cleanup. 2

You give Trina a couple wrenches and a flat screwdriver. She'll have the carb swapped out before you finish giving tours of the nice Porta potty/ @Sparky's office.
Wheelhorse#1 1,657 #12 Posted August 16 Well .It didn’t pan out .The guy flaked out on me at the last minute and managed to waist enough of my time and I just can deal with people like that. Oh well plenty of WHs in the sea.The hunt continues on.
