Wheel color change

Recommended Posts

Sparky

Rolled this one into the shop…thinking it’s a good time to redo the wheels. I’m wanting a change, leaning towards gloss black.
Don’t even suggest “white” cause that just won’t happen, no way.
Thought about the same gray as my B-80 but nothing else is gray. On the workhorse the frame and front and rear axles are all black.

I'm not generally a huge fan of dark wheels but in this case I can see the logic.

Wheel clean up will take awhile while I decide… then it’s a trip to hardware store for rattle cans!

Looks like you have a lot of footwear. I can't imagine how many shoes your wife must have! :hilarious:

Lol... black is back in colors... :) I would see how a flat black would look.

Some of those new fangled hammered look rattlers are pretty cool too.

Here is a picture of the 2010 raffle tractor.  Last week, I had one of the rear tires blow out.  I never did like the white paint job on those wheels.  So I am buying new tires and painting the rims as I type this.  I am going with Almond on this horse.  For Sparky's, I suggest trying to match the grey.  Mike, maybe use grey primer and see how is looks??  Maybe Aluminum??

Horror Fright needle scaler works well getting into the tight spots.

Yes, it does.... it's all about the angle and the downward pressure - to get best results. It helps make a 20 foot  paint job look more like a 5 footer.

What about an anodized silver on the wheel and then gloss black the wheel weights? Just a thought.

I'm partial to Almond on wheels, but, it's your tractor.

Work Horses used a very bright white, not almond or anything like it. Bright white gets my vote ( I know you said not to), unless you go with the grey color you have on a couple other of your machines.

Or even a darker grey metallic?

I dunno... would your tractor's butt look fat in flat black vs satin...? :eusa-think:

I'd go satin black... :handgestures-thumbupright:
