Mrs. P’s Comp’ny Car Show

Nice!! Glad to see the old "Tin Indian" up & running. The smaller red 14 looks like a Lenend car 5/8 scale.

With the patina & missing stainless trim, your Pontiac just screams of "War Wagon" !! :handgestures-thumbupright: As Gretchen Wilson sang " I may not be a 10 but the boys say I clean up good"...

I'm seeing SOOO many 4 door conversions to 2 door post cars out there. It was a matter of time.......

@Pullstart I've been seeing a Poncho very similar to yours parked next to the Stanton public works garage on nice days this summer.  Seems to be a semi daily driver. Cream and brown paint.  That one has the lighted hood ornament.  Does that make it a different year, or a different trim level?

You see a million 57 Chevys, Corvettes, Chevelle's GTO's and early 50's GM trucks at car shows. You don't see a old beastly "survivor " every day. They get the attention all the time now. (Tires don't look Street legal!) :)

They used to have an ALL CHEVY show in Syracuse. I had my 69 Caprice 4DR. "Grandpa Car there many years in the "full size class" I took first 1 year because the 65 Caprice convertible with 5000 miles didn't show up because it "might rain " a bit. Guys liked it because it was clean with rally wheels and it looked stock but it had a Chevelle SS intake, Quadrajet and factory style air cleaner on it. Every other car had Chrome this and that under the hood with spark plug wires like spaghetti. took 2nd the other years.

As far as I know the amber leucite Chief Pontiac was illuminated from 1949 to 1956. It sat atop the "Silver Streak" hood décor that was Pontiac's trademark from 1935 to 1956.   Some aftermarket units were made for 1957 and 1958 but they are scarcer than  hen's teeth.

Kevin was only drivin' 1/4 mile, slicks are just fine for that.                        :ychain:

I have.  Most steam power plants and many steam locomotives in the '40s had them.  They are called superheaters.

Superheaters use exhaust heat to increase the temperature and pressure of steam.  They also vaporize any water vapor in the steam in the process- hence, hot water heaters.

Oh, I am writing this in the emergency waiting room.  Mrs 8n had a @Pullstart moment with a kitchen knife.  Expecting a half dozen stitches.

Update -

She is all patched up now.  Steri Strips and glue.  No stitches.

She was nice to the doctor as well, so we HAD to stop at Harold's Dairy Delight for ice cream on the way home.

Yep, saw lots of these working for a power plant builder. They significantly increased the overall efficiency.

The red race car defiantly looks like a legends car. 1100 cc motorcycle engine. Drove one at the legends track at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The red GTO....I had the dead ringer to that one back in the day, red with black vinyl top, 389 with Hurst 4 speed and posi-traction. Mine was 1965, not sure if the one at the show was 1965 or 66. Wish I still had that one!

It was a '66 or '67.   The '65 had  more squared off grill halves.

Not to mention the lack of a license plate either.
