ebinmaine 67,419 #101 Posted August 28 I would try eliminating your ammeter first. Odds are far higher that it will be the problem versus the stator. Another thing that needs to be paid very close attention to is the voltage regulator/rectifier. It needs good ground to function correctly so it would be a good idea to remove it and clean the nuts and bolts that go to it and possibly even run a separate ground from one of those bolts to the negative battery terminal. That's what I do on all of ours. You can test the output of the engine by putting it at half throttle and use a volt ohm meter on AC setting. It should be about 32, 38 volts output. Then you can check the output of the voltage regulator and see if that's bringing it down to about 13.5 to 14 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
