1975 c100 with 36 inch rear discharge

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a 75 c100. It has the rear discharge 36 inch deck. Belt was shredded when I got it. Trying to find the part numbers for the mower and tractor belts. I’m doing some digging and will probably eventually come across them. I provided a picture of the deck. Thanks

@Gonecrazyi  those 36" R/D  decks are a solid unit , what does the underside of that look like ?  shredded belts , typically  refers to , related pulley drag . how easily do those spindles spin?  idler pulley ? blades look ?  any noise or roughness to pulley movement ? any related rough /  noisy bearing noise , is usually lubrication failure . 6 bearings in the deck , 2 on each drive pulley , related mule drive belt from engine , has 4 bearings , 2 for each pulley , PTO belt drive cone , has 2 bearings  1 outer sealed bearing , inside , fine needle bearing . all need the correct hi temp grease , you might luck out , and only need belts , quick look at the deck , says , looks solid , good paint , underside , condition , is the real info , to any rust / cracking / rot . let us know ,  have 3, 42" R/D decks myself , very similar , just bigger ,  pete

the 36 gives nice cut -- follow Pete's suggestions -- also suggest you download the manual from tool bar here and print a copy for future reference  -- also go to Toro site or partstree.com and familiarize yourself with parts diagrams for that model -- as well as getting the 4 rubber bumpers that go on the brackets on top of lift carriage assembly  - and since it appears the rear rod and trunion are disconnected be good to be sure that's properly adjusted when re-connected. Good luck  -- as an fyi - i have a set of 36 OEM blades  - send me p.m. if needed.

The 36 inch decks with the grease fittings (rear and side discharge). are the later decks .   I have two 36inch rear discharge deck. one is way over forty five years od with the sealed bearings and no grease fittings.   I also have one from the 1980's with the grease zeros on the spindle.   Both still operate fine and do a pretty good job.  Tonight I mowed with my 42 inch recycler deck that also does a good job.

Hard to believe how well these older mowing attachments keep on going!

I appreciate the help with the belt numbers.  The bearings in the spindles feel fine when I spin the blades. No noises or wobbles. It looks like the belt just fell apart. But I’ll double check everything as I put the new belt on. I’ll also look through the manuals. The blades appear to have a big nut spacing them off of the spindle. I’ll get some more pictures tomorrow. Everything on the whole tractor seems solid. It runs good and cut nicely with the single blade that was spinning lol. Also, I had to disconnect the rear rod assembly to get down to the belt. My belt cover is all one piece and wouldn’t come out.

In a previous post...I mentioned that 8ten carries blades for the 36" decks....just need to use the blades quickly and cut some grass to fix the horrible color choice.
