Sodaking27 777 #1 Posted July 30 Fired up the C175 today for the first time. Started right up. It’s not sounding that good though. Waiting to borrow a compression tester to check the cylinders. Not sure what all the noise is about. Can’t tell if it’s a major exhaust leak or something knocking in the engine . On a plus note the hydro works great. Yeah my videos didn’t capture the sound all that well either. Actually it doesn’t sound so bad in the videos. I pulled the exhaust shields off. Have the front two manifold bolts soaking. Going to put new gaskets in and see what that does.
c-series don 8,724 #4 Posted July 31 I do hear something funky in the second video, but I can’t tell what. Were you able to do a compression test?

Will most likely be the weekend before I have the tester. Not seeing any blue smoke or smelling any burnt oil. This is a series 1 so fingers crossed.
Sodaking27 777 #6 Posted August 3 (edited) Compression test completed. Both cylinders had 110 lbs. Removed the exhaust manifold and discovered the rear gasket was blown. Front gasket completely gone. Off to get new gaskets. Edited August 3 by Sodaking27
