Pullstart 62,829 #1 Posted July 30 My rating in this company is 0 stars. If I were to have received my complete order, I’d never have an issue. But customer service makes or breaks a company. This is terrible. Buyer beware…

Bill D 1,916 #8 Posted July 30 I usually order from Rock Auto or Summit Racing. Was missing parts in my Rock Auto order once and it was fixed within 24 hours. Never had a problem with Summit, and they will match most places prices 1
squonk 41,051 #9 Posted July 30 Drive down to your local auto parts store. Talk to an actual person. If they screw up you have a face to blame and an owner/ manager to make it right. Everyone wants to save money and just push a button and bingo it's on your door step. This is what happens. 4 1 1

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #11 Posted July 30 The whole problem is caused by the way big companies hire employees. First, they hook up the cattle trailer to the over the road tractor and stop at each village and pick the idiots, this continues until there is a full load. The load is dropped off at a call center. Slowly the head count of idiots decreases until the cattle trailer is on the road again. The decrease in idiots may increase if trailer has a half load of zipper heads. A zipper head is defined as follows: Never get to work on time. When zippy finally arrives, it fines it assigned work spot, unzip's the zipper on its skull and places it brain is a safe location until quitting time when it places said brain back in its skull and hauls a&& out the door.

IMHO... only ONE good one. Exact same story for Carquest/Advance. I'm VERY lucky to still have 3 good locally owned "chain associated" stores. When they retire or move on to other jobs I'll be 100% online.
lynnmor 7,303 #14 Posted July 30 I ordered a cheap 6 in 1 trimmer that has a power head, extension, pole saw, hedge trimmer, string trimmer and numerous accessories. Upon testing the chainsaw wouldn't oil so I contacted the company. Below is the nonsense but in the end I had two complete units and the failed oil pump was only a tiny spring pin that I had in stock. ME The chain oil pump does not work. Could you send a new head with a good pump? I tried adjusting the output to all 3 positions and checked the hoses to make sure they are open. Saw is new and has not cut wood but failed testing the chain oil output. Jun 18, 2024 Vevor Customer Service Dear customer, Thank you for your inquiry. squonk 41,051 #15 Posted July 30 There is a somewhat local repair shop on YT. Dude does some incredible work. Aftermarket parts are getting to be a crapshoot at best. Quite often a car comes into his shop with new parts already installed from Amazon, Rock auto, ect. Customers usually have the receipts with them. He has a big U pull it yard about 10 min from his shop and he ends up going there for sensors and injectors ect because the new parts are junk. He had a car that got towed in because it was running so rich the oil would get fouled. Had a brand new coolant sensor that read about 20 degrees off. Got another new sensor and it was only about 15 degrees off. He went and pulled a used one from the junk yard. fixed the car for a couple of bucks.
ebinmaine 67,391 #16 Posted July 30 13 minutes ago, squonk said: He has a big U pull it yard Aahhhh yes..... I did used to enjoy a nice trip on a Saturday morning to the salvage yard. And right there we have another thing that is nearly impossible to find up here. If you are a known good constant customer then you're still allowed to roam around salvage yards but most of them have to keep the general public out because their insurance companies require them to.. We have a fair amount of salvage yards in the area and buying from them is easy enough as long as they have the time to pull the piece. Another part of that consideration for us up here is that zero of our salvage yards will sell any component of any brake system. Absolutely no emissions parts. The days of getting sensors used like that unless you are a friend of the yard owner, are gone. I only know of one yard Within all of Southern Maine that will sell a used battery. No exhaust systems. Most places don't sell used tires anymore either. It's all about over regulation, insurance policies and binders, liability. 2

adsm08 2,046 #18 Posted July 30 I do not even go to Parts Geek because I have caught them with too many incorrect, inaccurate, or obsolete listings. I have caught them outright saying parts that have been obsolete for years are in stock.

My outreach to customer service got me about as far as @Pullstart’s except I had no back and forth - they simply never responded!. So I manually oil it, and expect it to fail prematurely (whatever that means these days!). I’ll then weigh investing in a Makita. It’s a very handy tool, otherwise, and so much easier to use than a gas chainsaw for small work like cleaning up (single handed operation). These imported things are so inexpensively produced they’re probably not worth the return shipping cost. A good outfit would simply replace. FWIW, only ever had one issue with RockAuto and they sent a replacement with zero friction.

I have a lot of work for these things as soon as the heatwave breaks, but I can't justify spending a grand since the work will be much less in following years. Since it had a one year warranty I thought this would be good enough, but I didn't anticipate dealing with stupid people. The last few purchases from RockAuto were not great, suspect packaging makes me think counterfeit parts and other parts had were in worn packaging and tarnished like they were salvage from an insurance claim. Since they charge shipping from each of their locations, the bottom line is often more than many places.
