Pullstart 62,954 #4 Posted July 29 here was my 1959 RJ. Notice the three piece transmission and welded front axle.
953 nut 55,398 #5 Posted July 29 Yes, you have a 1958 or 1959 RJ. There may be a date of manufacture cast into the transmission but there were no differences in the two years. Nice to see that the pervious owner only made a small cut in the hood to accommodate a different engine.

Yup, it's a RJ-58 but solid seat pan can indicate it was made in 59 What kind of info are you looking for?
bobs little red tractors 3 #8 Posted July 30 Are there parts available for the transmission. Also what is a good engine i should install, thinking of putting hood back where it belongs.
Pullstart 62,954 #9 Posted July 30 Kohler K91 or K90 engines fit well, as do Clinton B-1290. Some transmission parts are still available. If you are interested in popping one apart for inspection, here is your Bible: https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/61268-so-you-want-to-save-that-wh-3-piece-tranny/ 2
Pullstart 62,954 #10 Posted July 30 This seems to be the third RJ I’ve seen since the Big Show in June that has had a full blown JD paint treatment. Wild how these pop up all at once! 1
