ebinmaine 67,771 #2 Posted July 29 Was it @Sparky that started a thread about tires? In a generic manner of traction I would personally recommend some sort of turf tire with chains for plowing but there is also one that he uses year-round with a zigzag tread. 1
Sparky-(Admin) 21,352 #3 Posted July 29 @RKCrizzle Go into the restorations section and one of the first few topics is “Let’s Talk Tires”. Some decent info there.
Achto 27,645 #4 Posted July 29 I have heard great reviews, both first hand & over the web about the Carlise Versa Turf tire. They are expensive but claim to be good in slippery conditions without the use of chains. Plus minimum damage to the lawn during the summer. https://www.prioritytire.com/by-brand/carlisle-tires/versa-turf?var-carlisle=105405&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgOHDi8_MhwMVXjIIBR3ebgZ-EAQYByABEgKANfD_BwE
Mike in NC 341 #5 Posted July 29 Here is my 312-Hydro. I put V-61's on the front and Deestone 23 10.50/12's on the rear. The Deestone 10.50's are about the same weigth of the original 9.50's. All tires are fluid filled. I use this as mt weekly lawn mowing unit. I also use it to put my yard cart around with. 2
Pullstart 62,954 #6 Posted July 30 Asking what’s the best tire, is like saying what’ the best pizza topping? There will be something for everyone Some folks like turfs, turfs and chains, ags, ags with chains, semi-ags, etc…
953 nut 55,397 #7 Posted July 30 If you aren't mowing and don't intend to spend much time driving on the soft grass then an aggressive tread would be a good idea. Here is a link to a recent thread on the subject of tire choice.

ohiofarmer 3,276 #9 Posted July 30 i would put another tire in the mix for pulling and especially plowing snow. Ags were just horrible on snow. I had a set of new ATV tires that had a lot pf space between the traction parts and they require no tire chains at all. That would be great on asphalt covered in snow.[no chain scuffing] Of course they would wear faster in dirt and such things. The obvious answer is more than one set of mounted tires and threaded studs on the hubs instead of the standard tire bolt
