Need some help and information on this 1976 B-80 wheel horse, am a new B on the wheel horse tractors. I have a few things going on with my tractor I not to long ago took my tractor apart and took photos of the wiring  I was able to repaint it. so now at this point I copy a diagram and hook all the wires up just like the diagram and p[us Iv add a headlight switch with a fuse link 15amp with tail lights. so now when I put the negative cable on the bat it sparks and when I touch the one black wire that on the tail light to the negative bat it come on and it has a good ground to the back finder.  and when I have  the red cable on the hot side there nothing when I run a jump line to that for the tail light don't come on. could the solenoid went bad?

Your solenoid should have nothing to do with your lights.

Did your wiring perform properly before you added the lights? With the key in the OFF position you should be able to attach the battery negative terminal without any change.

Please check your wiring using the diagram below to be sure you made the proper connections.

Is the wire that goes to the ammeter and ignition switch connected to the solenoid side that goes to the battery?
