mdtoro 2 #1 Posted July 27 Looks like I have some oil leaking from the seal behind the clutch. Do I need to pull the motor to get at this seal?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,041 #2 Posted July 28 Wonder if the question is answered in the service manual? A model number will sort these more and the serial number identifies the model year. 3 pages of search results for the 520xi https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?&q=520xi&type=downloads_file&page=2&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy
Fordiesel69 263 #3 Posted August 6 When looking at mine, it appears you can remove the clutch and use the two screw method. Also make sure the front sump is not leaking.
mdtoro 2 #4 Posted September 7 Seems to be getting worst as I mow. Trying to limp through the fall and make it a winter project. I'm a little suspicious of the crankcase breather reed.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,041 #6 Posted September 7 This tractor illustrated parts list includes the engine parts but do not know what engine spec you have. 2 Kohler service manuals and again do not know what specification number you have. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q="ch20"&quick=1&type=downloads_file
RED-Z06 2,221 #7 Posted September 8 If its the kohler command they were known to blow out front seals, usually completely out. Pull the clutch and its accessible
mdtoro 2 #8 Posted October 5 The front seal replacement was pretty easy and it did stop my oil leak. Took off the front bumper and pulled the battery. To pull the clutch I tried using a socket wrench and a pipe wrench to hold the clutch but could not get enough leverage. Using my 1/2 inch Ryobi impact driver made short work of the clutch removal. Two screws on the seal and it easily popped out with a yank from a couple of pliers. Used a section of pipe to tap in the new seal. I did note that you need to pay attention on how the clutch is mounted. Now that I did it once it would probably take about 45 minutes to do the same again.
