6254 brake & clutch bushing replacements

Is there an aftermarket replacement for the bushings that go in the pedals of 60s and 70s Wheelhorses?

I believe this is a 3/4 ID by maybe 1/4 long flange bushing??

You MAY have better luck using NYLON bushings.  I found some at NADA for the rock shaft on mine.

3/4" ID x 1/4 or 3/8.  Had to gently tap them in place with a soft mallet.

@gt14rider

Now you see that's less expensive than any of the others I've found.

13 bucks a piece plus tax.

We replace between one and four of those on every tractor that we take apart and rebuild. That adds up quick. I would buy them in bulk if I could find something usable that was a lot less expensive.

Mcmaster carr, thay have other material to choose from.  You can grind to width. At 1.04 ea I'd make it workScreenshot_20240724-093929_Chrome.jpg.c646c0b30674db902d51fc20168cb744.jpg

That's awesome!

Thanks guys.

I looked yesterday but I was using a different flange thickness because that's what I took off.

No way an extra thick flange is a negative issue in this situation!

Since you guys are on such a wicked roll...

Any idea what the diameter is on the roll pins used in the clutch pulley idler shaft on the old eight speeds? I couldn't decide if it was 9/64 or 5/32.

Or should I just get the 5/32  and expand the shaft bore hole with the right drill bit if needed???

Believe it or not, I saw these in packs of two in the Hillman bins at a Lowes in different sizes for about $2 each

@gt14rider  @ebinmaine   another brain fart on that , why not get that  1/8x 1, 1/4  in a longer length , possible $ saving , and use a cutting wheel to make what you want  ? https://www.amazon.com/Spring-Pins-1-8-Hardware/s?rh=n%3A16410401%2Cp_n_feature_ten_browse-bin%3A19044679011, regularly look at a problem , for related , similar issue . BTW  that schematic lay out , also makes me think of detail tweaking for effortless function, done a lot of that , good talkin , pete

Now now now.

Let the boys help.

In all seriousness. I did look. It's just that I was looking for the wrong size flange. What I had here was thinner and I couldn't find those for less than 6 or $7 a piece. I can't begin to imagine a little extra width is going to make that much difference and probably will be better.

@gt14rider

You were correct on the 1/8 pins. Thanks!

I ordered a bag of 1/8 and knowing there was a broken pin with a worn oval shaped hole I also ordered a bag of 5/32 and two good drill bits.

Turns out a Previous Owner had already done the oversized bore to the clutch pedal lever/rod connection!!
