Andy N. 2,156 #2 Posted July 24 (edited) I've been slowly working on a '89 312-8 for a few years. Mostly busy work during the winter. I went with Rustoleum High Performance Enamel Aluminum (rattle can) on my wheels. Here's my progress so far, but haven't worked on it since March. I would recommend changing all the transmission seals (axles, brake and drive shaft) and shifter boot. You can get them from @wheelhorseman at https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/. I also painted the muffler with a hight temp silver and installed LED headlights and tail lights. The lights can be found on Amazon, https://a.co/d/9gg7Bsq https://a.co/d/dDMMBg7 Edited July 24 by Andy N. 5

ebinmaine 67,766 #6 Posted July 24 With the help of a bunch of folks here on Red Square I made up a list of things to look at at various stages of tractor ownership including before you even purchase it. This is a printable list so you can go down through and check things off. It's a long list and it includes things that not every model has so you could eliminate those or check them off as you go. This list came to mind in the first place, as it says in the beginning, because I was getting ready to start work on a new project.

Would you happen to have a link to where you bought that Rustoleum silver? I can’t seem to find it. Thank you.

I get it at Menards which is a regional store similar to Home Depot. Here's the Home Depot link. I edited the post above with the correct name. It's Aluminum, not silver. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Professional-15-oz-High-Performance-Enamel-Gloss-Aluminum-Spray-Paint-6-Pack-7515838/202058761 Edited July 24 by Andy N.
