Is it all in my head from reading all the hype ?? Or could it actually be quieter? Very possible that its all in your head. Also possible it's quieter. I have an old pushrod V6 in my truck that needs a good valve adjustment and I judge when it's time to change that oil by the way it sounds. It is not in your head. My K341 is super quiet with Rotella and Penn Grade 1 (Brad Penn) and is noticeably quieter in all my other air-cooled engines as well.
