23 Reo 229 #1 Posted July 16, 2024 Are 24x12-12 rear tires too big for a 520H?
Pullstart 63,497 #2 Posted July 16, 2024 Stock? Most likely. You may be able to raise the fender however. These are 24x12-12s on my 520Xi for reference.
ebinmaine 69,669 #3 Posted July 16, 2024 Depends on the brand of tire and actual measurements. 3 1
Sparky-(Admin) 21,733 #5 Posted July 17, 2024 The width of the rear wheel will also affect the tires overall height…narrower wheel means a taller tire once it’s inflated. I think most 520’s have the wider wheels, not sure about the 1988-1989 models though. 3

pfrederi 18,151 #7 Posted July 17, 2024 That is the tire size WH used on many D series... they were mounted on 10.5" wide rims C series 7.5" some 520s 8.5" 1
23 Reo 229 #8 Posted July 17, 2024 (edited) I just thought they would look good on my 97. I always put bias ply G60s or G50s on the back wheels of my cars in the 70's. Do you think I would be better off staying with the stock size? Edited July 17, 2024 by 23 Reo

Personally I like big wide rear tires. Desired task because wide tires do well on loose aggregate or mud but not great for snow. 2

Thor27 828 #12 Posted July 17, 2024 24x12-12 airlock. This was a 520 under the black hood & kohler.
Thor27 828 #13 Posted July 17, 2024 Those are on a 10" rim, they were hard to stretch that wide, they would be easier to mount on 8.5"s.

JoeM 7,883 #15 Posted July 18, 2024 Put a set of 24 12 12 on 10 inch rims, The rims had a little deeper back-set unlike the shallow ones WH used and I had to put spacers on so the tire did not contact the hydro brake. C141 plenty of room under the fender tho. I would be concerned if using a mower,. gauge wheels might hit the tires. this one is for looking and not cooking.

Monstrosity 1,144 #17 Posted July 19, 2024 (edited) These are 28X12 on 10.5 rims but I made them fit with gt14 rear tins. No spacer and they clear the trailer hitch mount. Edited July 19, 2024 by Monstrosity 2
